Santiago 2

So all three of us ran tonight. My gf dropped off to do her own thing, at her own pace. My niece and I went out through the university grounds and then through the "suburbs" of Santiago. We ended up running out of road and pavement at 12 minutes and taking a gravel path until we hit a fast flowing stream. We asked a couple about crossing the stream and they directed us to a bridge. We crossed and ran through an overgrown area between neighborhoods. Rocky and muddy and tangled. Finally we exited into another road. We circled back and retraced our route, as we are interested in running for 30 minutes. 30 is the minimum that her father has asked we to take her to on this trip. On the way back, I picked up the pace. Pushed her harder. We dropped down to sub 6. I actually heard her huffing, which hadn't happened before. When we got to the hotel's driveway, we sprinted to the front door. Something like 40 meters. I was feeling the burn by then, and think she was too. She had a bit of a sweat showing.

Tomorrow we head east along the coast to Oviedo. Another city, another run.
