So, the Doctor has found Gallifrey, discovered a way to bring Clara back to life and met up with an old friend, in the shape of Ashildr/Lady Me. Happy endings all round then? Hardly.
I had some mixed feelings about tonight’s episode of Doctor Who. The plot of the episode (and the season) felt severely half-baked, to say the least, and great moments intermingled freely with a certain amount of WTF. But that ending? Was the greatest.
“Listen” is the best Doctor Who episode in years. More than that, it’s the best story Steven Moffat has written for the show since “The Eleventh Hour,” and I might be willing to go still further back than that in search of an episode of his that outdoes tonight’s entry.
