First thing, you must wear clothes that are designed for running. They are made of technical materials and are designed to feel good on a run. Proper running gear lets you focus on your training or your race.
Secondly, as I have stated in earlier entries, you need to dress like it is 10 to 15 degrees C warmer outside. You want to start your run chilled, even cold, because your body is going to heat up once you get going.
Thirdly, races aren’t cancelled unless the weather is truly life-threatening, such as an earthquake or tornado. You need to practice running in the elements with the right gear. Training in different weather conditions builds character and gives you experience when a race is held in subpar conditions.
Finally, you need to accessorize and layer. Pieces that can be added and peeled off easily during temperamental fall weather. Also, focus on breathable, waterproof/water-resistant layers that keep you dry.
